A Journey To The Past

Early in the 1900’s when the roads were still dusty and horses were stabled on the main thoroughfare through towns, people with grand visions poured there hearts into making a name for themselves.

Jay E. Niles purchased the Curtis Hotel in 1912 after it was fully finished. With the purchase of the hotel came visions of things to come not only for The Hotel Niles, but for the town of Alturas, CA.

The Hotel has passed through many different, owners, presidents, and wars. The Niles still stands and is a historic part of America, especially the movement West.
